This collectible Great Britain postage stamp presentation pack was issued by the Royal Mail to honor the British novelist Thomas Hardy (1840 – 1928).
This pack contains a single 20p stamp, which was produced to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Thomas Hardy. Thomas Hardy was born near Dorchester in 1840. He became one of Britain’s greatest writers with such works as ‘Under The Greenwood Tree’ (1872) and ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ (1874) and ‘Tess of The D’Urbervilles’ (1891).
The pack includes a synopsis of his work and contains a map of ‘South Wessex’, Hardy’s name for Dorset, showing his pseudonyms for real places. Ideal as a gift or keepsake, making a wonderful addition to any collection.
