Issued by the Royal Mail on 8th July 1997, this pack commemorates the Golden Anniversary of the combination of two equestrian societies in 1947 to form The British Horse Society. The Pack opens out to display information on how the Horses are kept and the important role they play in the conveyance of the Royal Family by road. The 20p stamp depicts ‘Carriage Horses and Coachman’. The 26p stamp depicts ‘Lifeguards Horse and trooper’. The 43p stamp depicts ‘Household Cavalry Drum Horse and Drummer’. The 63p stamp depicts ‘Duke of Edinburgh’s Horse and Groom’.
This pack makes a wonderful addition to any collection and will be appreciated by collectors and enthusiasts.
