Description
New York City in the 1940s was the theme for this collectible plate block of four 15-cent air mail postage stamps issued by the US Post Office. The stamps were intended primarily for use on airmail material destined for Europe and parts of North Africa, and the New York skyline, including the Statue of Liberty, was chosen because New York was the major port of entry from these countries.
