Description
This 12-cent postage stamp was issued by the US Post Office to honor Grover Cleveland, the 22nd and 24th president of the United States. He is the only president to have served two non-consecutive terms in office. Cleveland was born in Caldwell, New Jersey, in 1837. He began his political career as a lawyer and then served as sheriff of Erie County, New York. In 1881, he was elected mayor of Buffalo, New York. He gained a reputation for honesty and efficiency in office, and in 1882, he was elected governor of New York.
